The first official day of summer is tomorrow, Friday the 21st! Are you ready for the heat?
If you’re like me, I’m not a huge fan of triple digit temperatures, so here are a few ways to reduce the heat and maintain your home during the summer:
1.) Inspect your air conditioner and replace the filter if needed. This is a simple step to keeping your AC running smoothly.
2.) Consider installing solar window screens for your home. This will reduce the amount of light coming in through your home’s windows and will help you save on cooling costs.
3.) Break out the barbecue! Now is the time to clean off your grill! Summer evenings are ideal for our door cooking and using a BBQ can help to reduce the heat added to your home that typically comes from using your kitchen.
4.) If you have a pool, make sure to maintain proper pool chemistry – filter water, run the pool pump, and keep up regular chlorination. This is key to preventing mosquitoes in your pool!
